St Andrew's Church

Welcome to St Andrews Church, Taunton, a part of the Church of England. Located in the Diocese of Bath & Wells, our parish covers a large part of North Taunton, including Rowbarton, Obridge and Wellsprings, but, wherever you come from, all are welcome. If you are new to the area, we are situated towards the north end of Taunton just beyond the railway station.

We aim to serve our regular congregation and wider community alike, with the worship of God, especially in celebration of the Eucharist, at the centre of its life.

We meet for worship on a Wednesday and Sunday at 10.00am and occasionally on Sunday evenings, as well on major festivals. The church is normally open for private prayer during office hours - Tuesday to Friday from 8.30 to 11.30am.

There is access for wheelchair users to the main part of the church, including a wheelchair accessible toilet. An inductive loop system is installed to assist those with hearing aids, and we can provide large print copies of the Order of Service and newsletter for those who need them.

Our Vision

St. Andrew's has been a place of prayer since 1881 and remains a haven of peace at the heart of our community. Our vision and purpose is to reach lives for change and hope through living and telling the story of Jesus.

We believe that worship and the sacraments of the Church are at the heart of this work, sustaining lives in prayer, and reaching out to those who would like to mark important stages on life’s journey. We aim to encourage the believer in their discipleship and to accompany those making the first tentative steps towards faith.

We believe that God calls us to loving service in the community, and many of our members are involved in a wide range of community activities. Through our New St Andrew’s Project, we are on a journey that will transform our building not only for a wide range of worship styles, but also for community use, an inclusive place where all belong. A parish church at the heart of its parish.
