Church Services

We have very close links with our local churches, especially St. Andrew’s Church across the road where we regularly hold services.  These are attended by all children and staff, and parents are also invited. Every year we have services to welcome new children, celebrate Easter, Nativity, Remembrance and a number of special Agape services.  We also held a special Commissioning Service in October for our new headteacher, Mrs Frounks.

Agape Meal

At St. Andrew’s Church School we welcome everyone to participate in our Agape service.  It is a reflective time when we can all share together as a community.

“Agape” is the New Testament Greek word for “self-giving love”.  In the Christian tradition an “Agape” is also the name for the informal meals and times of togetherness and mutual sharing which remind us of all those meals Jesus shared with his friends and that his Spirit continues to give us.

Here are some comments from our children:

“Everyone sings and it makes me happy.”

“I like the Agape meal because different children take part.  It reminds me that God is helping us all the time.”

“I love eating together.  It’s like God’s party!”
