Message from the Chair

A very warm welcome from the Chair of Governors' to our website.

Hello, I'd like to introduce myself, my name is Dawn Booth and I am privileged to hold the position of Chair of Governors for St Andrew's. My connection to the school stems back to 1995 when our daughter started school. I was so impressed with the feel of the school and the care and compassion they showed to every child and every parent that I have never wanted to leave.

As Chair, everything I work towards is to ensure that the objectives of both staff and pupils are met with continuous improvement in all areas of the school, being both aspirational and realistic. Being a part of the Bath and Wells Multi-Academy Trust gives us a strong connection to being a part of a wider family of schools and guidance that ensures the school meets its legal requirements alongside its visions and values.

St Andrew's has a very strong board of Governors, who work well as a team, pulling together for the wellbeing and development of the School, we are united by our commitment to the school and the responsibility we share for the school’s long-term success. The Governors are from a range of backgrounds, which brings many skills to the table; we are not afraid to challenge and consider ourselves the critical friend.

As a board, we have three core strategic functions which are: -

· Ensuring that everyone associated with the school understands the school’s vision and values for your children.

· Working with the Head Teacher to ensure that your children realise their potential and that all staff are supported and trained to achieve this.

· Ensure that the funding we receive is well spent.

None of this could be achieved without the expertise, professionalism, and dedication of the staff, every person that works or volunteers within the school brings added quality to the lives of our children.

If you are a current parent/guardian reading this, I would like to thank you for trusting us with your most precious gift, your child. If you are a prospective parent then I would like to invite you to see for yourself what St Andrew's has to offer. Please do give our office a ring to arrange a visit.

We want to provide your child with the best possible start in life, we see each individual as a person in their own right and we work towards helping them grow to their own strengths, so they can feel like they are succeeding and that they are valued, and it is my belief that at St Andrew's we are doing just that.

Yours faithfully

Dawn Booth, Chair of Governors
