Forest School

Forest School Leader -  Mr. Steve Green

Forest school at St. Andrew’s gives children, the valuable opportunity to develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in an outside environment. We are very lucky to have the use of a dedicated site near Milverton (about a 30 minute drive away).

The day is spent taking part in a variety of activities which promote independence, team building, self-esteem and confidence.  Each session is made up of several elements which are flexible to meet the needs of that particular group and individual children. The children take part in a number of outdoor games, including our own version of Hide and Seek- ‘1,2,3 Where Are You?’ to encourage social and cooperative skills. This is a very important aspect to a child’s development and as a school we feel that this is a great way to build relationships with each other and work together as a team. The sessions have proved to be a very positive experience for everyone involved. This is a very exciting adventure for all the children involved and we are very pleased to offer this as part of our outdoor curriculum and social skills development.
